A single streaming gateway can serve over 60 channels, in multicast Mpeg-2 from between 2 and 4 Mbps. For more channels just add extra equipment.

Backbone Switch with IGMP support, Frontier Switch with IGMP Snooping support.

Internet Access

A Firewall with content filter allows a secure acces to the Internet, restricting unwanted sites, blocking downloads and protecting from virus and spam.

Applications Server

A single Applications Server in each installation can serve to over 1000 screens.

The Applications Server controls all  content in the screens, therefore all updates and patches are managed from this point.

The Applications Server also acts as Invoicing Server. It records all transactions and uses for direct charges, communicating even with pre-existing invoicing solutions.

It can also be configured with Server or disc local replication for additional redundancy beyond the local backup processes.

Bandwidth

The live TV streams can be re-used for all users viewing the same channel. For that we use Multicast technology.

The Video on Demand flows, even of the same content, are individual, since each user starts the playback at a different point, and can pause or resume the viewing at will. Those are therefore served over Unicast.

Internet access means an additional traffic which depends on the speed and access hired from your ISP.

Other services such as messaging or system management will add very little traffic to the network compared to the previous services.
